A Reminder of God’s Sovereignty
Dear Faithful Author,
As our nation moves through this season of change, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions: hope, anxiety, even a bit of uncertainty. Elections can feel overwhelming, can’t they? We see division, hear strong opinions, and wonder what the outcome will bring.
In these moments, I find deep comfort in the words of Proverbs 19:21: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
This verse is a steady reminder of God’s sovereignty, not just over nations but over each of our lives, our callings, and yes, even our writing.
As Christian authors, we pour ourselves into our work. We brainstorm ideas, write with intention, revise and polish, then market and share our words with the world. We plan, strategize, and hope for a harvest. But at the end of the day, just like with any election, it’s ultimately in God’s hands.
He knows our every word before we write it, every reader before they discover our message, and every opportunity that will come our way. We plant the seeds, but only He can bring the growth.
If, like me, you find yourself feeling the weight of the unknown, let’s take a moment to rest in the truth of God’s grace and sovereignty. As it says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” We can shelter in His peace, knowing that nothing surprises Him, nothing is outside His control.
Today, my prayer for you is that you feel a deep sense of His peace and trust that every aspect of your journey—including your writing—is held in His hands. When uncertainty feels too close, I hope these truths are an anchor for your soul.
If you’d like to share what’s on your heart or need prayer, I’m here to listen. Just hit “reply”—I’d be honored to hear from you and walk alongside you in faith during this time.
In His steadfast love,
Tam
