Are You Accidentally Hiding Your Light?

Dear  Faithful Author,

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." - Matthew 5:14

But what if you're unintentionally keeping your light under a bushel?

If you're hesitant to promote your book, you might be doing just that. Let's talk about why sharing your work isn't just okay - it's essential.

As fellow writers, we share a unique calling - to touch hearts and transform lives through our words. Today, I want to encourage you to embrace not just your writing, but also the vital task of sharing your work with the world.

Remember why you started writing. For me, it began with 265 Point, a book chronicling my journey from 265 lbs to a healthier self. It wasn't just about losing weight; it was a spiritual transformation that resonated with others seeking change. As I shared my progress online, I realized a book could reach even more people needing hope and guidance.

But here's the thing - writing the book was only half the journey. The real impact came when I stepped out of my comfort zone to promote it. At first, it felt uncomfortable, even a bit selfish. But then I realized:

  1. Your book is a ministry, not just a product. By promoting it, you're extending your reach and impact.

  2. Your talent is a gift. Sharing it widely honors that gift and its Giver.

  3. Unsold books can't change lives. Marketing ensures your message reaches those who need it most.

Remember, promoting your book isn't about being "salesy." It's about connecting with readers who are already searching for the hope, wisdom, or entertainment your words provide. You're simply helping them find what they're looking for.

So, I challenge you: Show up consistently. Share snippets of your work. Tell the story behind your story. Connect with your audience authentically. Your words matter, and the world needs to hear them.

What's holding you back from sharing your message more boldly? I'd love to hear your thoughts and help you overcome any obstacles.

Keep writing, keep sharing, and keep changing lives.

Dedicated To Your Success,

Tam
