Friday Nurturing Content - 03/22/24
Happy Friday, Friend!
Today, I’d love to continue our conversation on the topic of Resurrection & Hope as we’ve been doing all month long in preparation for Easter.
While Jesus’ resurrection is the focus of what we celebrate during Easter, we encounter another powerful story of resurrection in the Bible (Gospel of John): the resurrection of Lazarus.
Both of these narratives not only demonstrate Jesus' authority over death but also offer us profound hope in the face of our own trials and challenges.
In John 11, we witness the miraculous raising of Lazarus from the dead.
Despite Lazarus being in the tomb for four days, Jesus calls him forth, demonstrating His power over death and foreshadowing His own resurrection (John 11:1-44).
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” -John 11:25-26
This event reminds us that even in our darkest moments of despair and loss, Jesus has the power to bring new life and hope… to any situation!
Remember, Jesus delayed His arrival to Lazarus on purpose so that Lazarus would, in fact, die before He came. This delay highlights Jesus's ability to overcome even the most seemingly irreversible circumstances, reinforcing the truth that nothing is beyond His control or redemption.
Similarly, the resurrection of Jesus, as recounted in the Gospels, serves as the ultimate demonstration of God's victory over sin and death.
Through His sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection, Jesus offers us the promise of eternal life and the assurance of His presence with us, even in our most challenging circumstances (See Matthew 28:1-10, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12, John 20:1-18).
His resurrection not only validates His identity as the Son of God but also serves as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, providing believers with the hope of salvation and the promise of life everlasting.
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" -1 Corinthians 15:55
As you reflect on these stories of resurrection today, I pray that you find hope and encouragement in the reality of Christ's victory over death.
Just as Lazarus was called forth from the tomb and Jesus emerged from the grave, you, too, can experience new life and transformation through your faith in Christ.
This Easter season, I encourage you to hold fast to the promise of resurrection and allow it to fill you with hope, courage, and unwavering trust in the God who brings life out of death.
Dedicated to your success,
Tam
P.S. We’re still praying through our March Prayer Calendar and, this coming week, we’re interceding for our communities and the world as we seek God's guidance and provision in all things. If you haven’t yet, go ahead and download it today and join us in prayer!🙏🏻
