It’s easy to convince ourselves that when we fail to measure up to God’s standards, all we need to do is try harder to do what’s right. But here’s the thing: if we’re only relying on our own strength, trying harder isn’t going to make much of a difference. What we really need is to tap into the power of God to produce the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Only HE can accomplish this.

This month, as you practice your chosen Fruit of the Spirit, remember that the “Fruit” doesn’t grow from you trying harder — it comes from the power of God and intentionally training yourself to rely on His strength and wisdom instead of your own.
